What is the Boulderball?

Imagine a miniature climbing wall – and now hold it in your hand.
The Boulderball is a compact sphere with holds, colors, and textures – made for fingers, focus and coordination.
Climb routes like on a real wall – but with your fingers, suspended in mid-air.

Your Goal – Grip by Grip to the Top

Each route provides a clear grip sequence. You start with two fingers and move through the route step by step.

Important: Only three fingers may touch the ball at the same time. Putting it down? Not allowed – and that’s what makes it fun.

Step by Step to the TOP

  • Choose a route (card or app)
  • Take the starting position (fingers 1 and 2) – lift the ball
  • Place your third finger on the next hold
  • Release the first finger
  • Repeat – until you reach the top

💡 Tip: You can move a finger on a hold, but you may not switch fingers.

Variations for Beginners, Pros & Teams

  • Kids / Beginners: Climbing with 4 fingers is allowed – perfect for getting started (see kids routes in the app or download).
  • Classic: 3 fingers – the standard mode (Level 1–4).
  • Pro: From level 5 upwards. Sometimes only 2 fingers, same hand – the Special Moves mode (DYNO, CRACK, SNAKY, ...) for finger acrobats.
  • Team Climb: Solve problems together, test and plan strategies – ideal for families, groups, workshops or schools. Everyone joins in: holding, climbing, thinking and cheering.

Play, Fun & Training

The Boulderball is both game and challenge.
It boosts finger strength, coordination, and focus – and brings a ton of fun.
